THE SHAKE OUT
Weekly two-hour radio show hosted by DJ Dave Lawson, pulling from his always-growing library to share shouldabeen hits and forgotten favorites. Mostly 45s, always vinyl!
New episodes of THE SHAKE OUT air live on WHCK (PassengerRadio.com) Tuesdays 4-6pm and are posted on this site immediately afterwards.

WHAT’S IT SOUND LIKE?
THE SHAKE OUT is first and foremost about enjoying great music, but it’s also about connecting deep cuts to familiar musical narratives through background players, producers, songwriters, and studios. Each week is an freerange genre romp through soul, rhythm and blues, early rock’n’roll, disco, funk, reggae, garage, Brill Building pop, NOLA, indie, jazz, City Pop, honky tonk, and who knows what else – all pulled from Dave’s personal record collection. Mostly 45s, always vinyl. Lots of music from right here in Detroit. But stop reading about it, just listen to an episode already!
